Diamond Crown Maximus Toro Stanford Newman approached Carlos Fuente with a new idea for his treasured Diamond Crown line, to create a full-bodied version. The Maximus derives its mystique from the El Bajo sun grown wrapper harvested on the Oliva family's Ecuador plantation. Not to be confused with a Maduro, it is made from the richest, heartiest tobacco cut from the top priming of the plant. The flavor lingers somewhere between a cappuccino and a double espresso — neither delicate nor intense. Very rare and befitting the Crown name, even the band speaks loudly to what pleasurable offerings the tobaccos will deliver. This cigar hits the mark and is a true treasure in any aficionado’s humidor. |

Fonseca MATASA 30th Anniversary Toro The Fonseca brand began in Havana, Cuba, way back in 1891. In 1974, the MATASA Cigar Factory opened in the Dominican Republic, and started rolling the Fonseca brand to satisfy the U.S. market. Made famous by Manuel Quesada, this cigar was introduced to commemorate that auspicious occasion. MATASA produces the 30th Anniversary in only two shapes, the Perfecto and the Toro. Of particular note are the deliberately selected leaves grown on a small micro farm in the Cibao valley, with a wrapper made from the topmost leaf, Olor Dominicano. These fine tobaccos endow this intense cigar with a diverse, yet specific flavor of chocolate pudding. Delicious. |

Sancho Panza Extra Fuerte Madrid Filler: Honduras / Dominican Republic / Nicaragua Wrapper: Connecticut Shade-Grown Although this is an inexpensive smoke, the hearty Sancho Panza certainly deserves a mention. The cigar boasts extra maduro and natural wrappers, successfully combined with a blend which is next on the food chain. Quite enjoyable and flavorful, easily an everyday favorite of true aficionados. Offering quality and value, an affordable indulgence for the seasoned set to be enjoyed after a good meal or when seeking full flavor. Once, and still a remarkable name in Cuban cigars, currently from the farms of Honduras, this terrific cigar provides a top-rate smoke for those in the know. |

Perdomo Edición de Silvio Edición de Silvio was created by Nick Perdomo, Jr. as a living tribute to honor his late grandfather, Silvio Perdomo. The origins of this tobacco is a closely held secret, known only to the Oliva family. Created as a premium of premiums, it is much more than that. By tasting this gem, you can bear to light that the tobaccos were resting in 50-year-old spice-laden casks. Allow this cigar to captivate you . . and it will. Cherish the complex tastes and the effort that went into this special offering. The experience will make you feel fortunate as you savor all this cigar can offer. The spicy, nutty undertones are delicious. Rich and creamy, you will smoke this Perdomo to the last bit of nub. The Edición de Silvio is the best of a great cigar-making company with a long tradition of excellence. |

Avo XO Trio Intermezzo Filler: Dominican Republic Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf The Avo cigar is a dream brought to life by Avo Uvezian, its statesman and founder. At 71 years of age, in what must seem like another lifetime, he found himself playing piano in Palmas del Mar, selling cigars on the piano top. The year was 1987. Now drawing from his musical background, the Intermezzo is a symphony for the palate. Avo created the XO blend of specially fermented Piloto Cubano expertly matched with Olor tobacco. A magnificently shaped robusto cigar, with its length and ring gauge in perfect harmony. Slightly spicy, well balanced and delicious. Medium bodied, the Connecticut shade lends a creaminess to luxuriate in. This is a superb smoke, truly a cigar worthy of high praise. |
