Delamain Resérve de la Famille 60 yrs old Triple "S" / Grand Champagne 40% abv
Cognac aged in wood from a single vineyard and single cask. At present, the Family Reserve comes from a brandy distilled just after World War II by a master "bouilleur de cru" (grower-distiller), in the heart of the Grande Champagne. First nose subtle but firm scents of pepper, spirit, and wood. The bouquet adds traces of grapes, paraffin, and spice. Palate entry is honey sweet, woody, and even a touch bacon fat-like. Midpalate stage is memorable for the semisweet tastes of marzipan, English toffee, and egg cream. Finishes as elegantly as it begins. Winner Double Gold Medal, San Francisco World Spirit Competition 2003.

Martell Creation Blend / Grand Champagne & Borderies 40% abv
A cognac both sophisticated and straight-forward, a true reflection of asserted personality of its eaux-de-vie, carefully selected in the Creation cellar, where eaux-de-vie from 1900 are preserved. Primary notes evoking ginger bread and dry fruits, soon complimented by the refreshing aroma of orange marmalade, lemon zests and orange tree flower, culminating in a subtle finale of nice rancio notes, with a mix of walnut stain, curry paste and cedar wood. Taste: A soft and silky feeling releasing the mellowness of this first instance and reinforcing the smoothness of the sophisticated blending. This initial mellowness is then intensified by an incredible length in mouth, bringing the flavors into full bloom.
